  • Job Summary:

    The IT Lead is responsible for installing, configuring, documenting, and maintaining the data and telecommunications infrastructure for Southwest Key Programs. They are responsible for providing excellent customer service and direct support to end users on a variety of computer and telecommunications issues. The position may require more work hours than the normal eight-hour workday and also requires significant travel in the local area.

    Essential Functions:

    • Administers local Windows servers to include backup software and telephone systems; proactively monitors, troubleshoots, reports, resolves, and escalates issues identified to the Senior Systems Administrator as appropriate
    • Troubleshoots, resolves or escalates hardware, software and telecommunications problems proactively or as identified by users
    • Takes ownership of assigned projects and tasks; provides excellent customer service in a responsive, respectful manner
    • Installs, configures, maintains, desktop, laptop & network hardware and software
    • Completes appropriate receiving forms for computer equipment and obtains and affixes asset tags and submits documentation as appropriate to Financial Department.
    • Monitors and maintains system security to include firewalls, antivirus, spyware & system software updates
    • Coordinates with and manages local IT vendors with the direction of the IT Manager and established IT policy and procedures

    Other Functions:

    • Completes appropriate receiving forms for computer equipment and obtains and affixes asset tags and submits documentation as appropriate to Financial Department
    • Creates, modifies and deletes domain accounts in Active Directory and creates email accounts and distribution groups as directed
    • Instructs users in the use of equipment and software
    • Maintains Ethernet networks to include cabling, network switches, and wireless network equipment
    • Provides support for audio-visual equipment
    • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Associates in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field preferred or equivalent work-related experience. Years of experience may substitute for degree.
    • 3 years’ information technology experience preferably in helpdesk support or systems administration in a Windows enterprise Active Directory environment
    • Knowledge of System Administration functions in a Windows Active Directory environment
    • Knowledge of Ethernet networks and TCP/IP settings
    • Experience supporting Windows 7/8 in a Windows Active Directory environment
    • Experience supporting Microsoft Office 2007 or greater; network printing; corporate email
    • Experience supporting VoIP preferred
    • Experience supporting Office 365 preferred
    • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
    • Must be able to work independently in accordance with established guidelines
    • Must have a reliable vehicle to travel between program locations

    Physical Demands:

    Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Work Environment:

    General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
