  • Job Summary:

    Our company is searching for a Network Engineer who will lead the design process, manage existing networks and monitor network traffic. Implement equipment installation plans, maintain each component of the network, troubleshoot issues and assesses the functionality of the network routers.  Responsible for designing computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the Internet, intranets, and other data communications systems. Creates, tests, and evaluates networks. Have a good understanding of both technical and business skills. Responsibile for setting up, developing and maintaining computer networks within and between organizations. Ensure the integrity of high availability network infrastructure to provide maximum performance for end users.

    Essential Functions:

    • Diagram existing architecture by identifying ISP informaiton for each location including; identifying contract start and end dates and connectivity speed.
    • Perform analysis on existing architecture by taking an enterprise view of the environment rather than a site by site view. Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
    • Investigate new technolgies and methodologies that would provide better enterprise connectivity including; MPLS setup, network high availability options and network security options.
    • Design a new network architecture plan looking at the enterprise as a whole including; providing a benefit analysis of new architecture, cost analysis, network security analysis and providing reccomendations for intrusion prevention systems.
    • Create a roadmap and project for implementation plan by defining the scope for the project, installation costs, long term maintenance support requirements and proposed training plan for staff.
    • Implement roadmap and project completion that includes; configuring routers/switches and FN, VPN and Subnet setup.
    • Sustain the necessary data throughput rate by monitoring networking activity and miaintin existing equpment.
    • Maintain the company phone system and work closely with the phone service provider to keep the lines active.
    • Respond to network connectivity issues and resolve wireless communication issues
    • Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational.
    • Install hardware such as hubs, routers, and wireless access points.
    • Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
    • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
    • Upgrade network hardware and software components as required.

    Other Functions:

    • Solve complex problems with many variables.
    • Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
    • Write functional requirements/specifications documents.
    • As a member of the IT Department, actively contributes to, and supports the mission of the department as a whole.
    • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience

    Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certificate preferred

    CompTIA networking certifications preferred

    5+ years’ experience in managing sophisticated computer networks

    3+ years’ experience in network architecture and deployment

    Physical Demands:

    Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

    Work Environment:

    General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
