  • Job Summary:

    The Regional Training Manager is responsible for assisting Regional Director of Training in providing oversight and leadership to the training function in an assigned region. This includes supporting program training personnel, maintaining staff training metrics, updating tracking systems, and ensuring compliance with all funding source, accreditation, licensing, and Southwest Key – wide training requirements.

    Essential Functions:

    • Assist in analyzing the effectiveness of training program implementation, ensures all performance improvement standards are monitored and feedback given to appropriate staff.
    • Assist in implement and facilitating standardized staff development curricula.
    • Generate written reports and presentations related to training programs, and deliver to appropriate audiences as needed.
    • Assist in updating training curricula, training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials for the region, in accordance with central office training standards and requirements.
    • Collaboration with the regional management team to ensure compliance with regulations in policy development/implementation, as well as on-going training program oversight as it relates to licensing regulations and policies.
    • Coordinate and facilitate ongoing technical training for Program Trainers.
    • Train and mentor Program Trainers in techniques and skills for training, ensuring central office training standards are met and maintained.
    • Confer and collaborate with regional program management on overall performance management and assist in planning recognition activities for Program Trainers.
    • Manage tracking and updating the official training record for staff in the Southwest Key Learning Management System.
    • Coordinate regional training events.  Maintain regional training supplies, equipment, and classrooms.

    Other Functions:

    • Document all program planning, policies, procedures, practices, and logistics to ensure quality assurance and sustainability.
    • Maintain knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations.
    • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required in HR, Training, Organization, Education, Business, or related field or minimum of five years demonstrated success with increasing responsibility and various assignments in learning and development: program management, instructional design, training delivery, performance improvement, leadership development.
    • At least one year of experience in leading a team of staff, as a supervisor or a lead worker.
    • Knowledge of adult education principles, curriculum development.
    • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Flexibility and availability to travel
    • Ability to work with diverse groups and to influence and support staff who are not direct reports.
    • Required expert proficiency with MS Office suite.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish
    • Proficiency in modern curriculum authoring tools.

    Physical Demands:

    Must be able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and First Aid Certification (CPR). Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs. required completing daily tasks. Job requires extended periods of sitting; use of various office equipment.

    Work Environment:

    Usual office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments. Travel and evening and weekend hours may be necessary to monitor, train and support the programs. Must maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the organization. Ability to work a flexible work schedule is required dependent upon the department, facility or program in which s/he works and job duties assigned. Work schedules are subject to variation from time to time depending on the needs of the department, facility or program.
