  • Job Summary:

    The Director of Data and Analytics is responsible for the ongoing data integrity and validity of Southwest Key’s (SWK) program and service data. This position is responsible for furthering the goal of enabling real-time decision making by providing the right data, at the right time, to the right people. This position must design, implement, and oversee the SWK Data Integrity protocols and act as the analytics subject matter expert for SWK, the Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) team, and be responsible for the delivery of information to all regulatory agencies including the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), state licensure, and accreditation.

    Essential Functions:


    • Design, build and drive key initiatives and strategy across SWK for data storage, impactful analysis, and the reliability and efficiency of data access
    • Oversees a team of data analyst and engineers by leading short-term projects and long-term strategic initiatives aligned with SWK priorities
    • Manage help desk team and provide technical assistance to all internal and external customers for CRM and data storage platforms
    • Implement a customer-centric design methodology, focusing on goal definition, design exploration, and idea refinement for data collection, storage, and analytic needs


    • Define and implement all SWK data integrity processes and controls to ensure data and analytics quality
    • Ensure SWK data systems meet regulatory requirements with ORR and other such agencies on all levels of accuracy, compliance, and reliability


    • Collaborate with SWK IT on data architecture, system migration projects, data automation, and services demand related to people, technology and resources
    • Maintain ETL systems and data warehousing infrastructure for analysis and reporting needs and identify and pilot process optimization opportunities



    • Lead and shepherd impactful data analysis projects ranging from efficient excel calculations to advanced machine learning and predictive modeling techniques such as regression and NLP
    • Ensure all reports and data analysis meet both a technical and practical specification with measurable metrics to ensure consistency and replicability



    • Lead and support both PQI and SWK in developing a data-driven culture through collective data empowerment by identifying training opportunities for SWK employees
    • Manage and support the development of performance dashboards and reports along with ad hoc information request
    • Summarize and communicate outcomes of analytics related projects and KPIs in an effective manner to stakeholders and leadership with the ability to deliver actionable insight

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Master’s degree with 5 years' experience or bachelor's degree with 10 years' experience in data analytics or data science, systems engineering, information management, health informatics, statistics, or similar role
    • Strong understanding and aptitude in data analysis, metrics, and trends with applied knowledge of measurement, statistics, and hypothesis testing
    • Broad knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytic techniques and statistical diagnostics of models
    • Ability to communicate technical findings at an appropriate level of detail to different audiences
    • Knowledge of design thinking, design of experiments, and quality best practices
    • High level of ethics related to data privacy and the sensitivity of client information
    • Project management experience



    • Knowledge and experience with Salesforce
    • Advanced experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
    • Experience with BI tools and data visualization best practices using Tableau or Power BI
    • Knowledge of analytic techniques and libraries using Python or R
    • Experience with SQL, extracting large sets of data, and design of ETL flows



    • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    • Demonstrated progressive leadership and personnel management experience

    Physical Demands:

    Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

    Work Environment:

    General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
