  • Job Summary:

    The Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Associate Director is responsible for providing guidance and direction to the team in order to ensure adherence to the FFT model.  In addition, the FFT Associate Director will make sure the program complies with contractual requirements.  Finally, the position will also be responsible for managing the contract budget and promoting Southwest Key FFT within the state. This position will provide direct supervision to the FFT Clinical Supervisors and Administrative Lead. The FFT Associate Director must maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working hours other than regular work schedule and evenings, weekends and holidays.

    Essential Functions:

    • Monitor program to ensure services are provided in a high-quality, efficient manner in accordance with the FFT model.
    • Ensure the implementation of quality assurance process, including but not limited to client file review, data reporting and analysis, quality assurance meetings and reporting, and on-going program monitoring.
    • Ensure ongoing monitoring of all database systems to ensure staff compliance with all contractual requirements; communicate with staff and provide feedback and guidance on corrections needed.
    • Develop and implement procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within Southwest Key Programs, funding source and other community partners.
    • Ensure that the program and all employees in their regions are knowledgeable and follow their program contract requirements.
    • Monitor the delivery of FFT therapeutic curriculums to ensure fidelity during FFT staffings.
    • Provide regular clinical consultations and client case reviews to staff on an individual and/or group basis.
    • Assist with providing trainings and refresher training in all program database systems, policies and procedures, etc.
    • Ensure all documentation and reports are provided to the funding source and national headquarters as required.
    • Assist FFT RED in the oversight of budget development and overall financial health of the assigned programs; maintain the program budget.
    • Review and sign non-licensed staff’s Comprehensive Assessments and Individualized Treatment Plans (if applicable).
    • Participate in ongoing FFT training and consultation.
    • Maintains awareness of staff schedules; schedules and notifies staff of meetings.
    • Manage personnel issues with assistance from the HR department.
    • Attend DJJ meetings and develop positive relationship with funding source.
    • Coordinate and conduct new hire interviews, as well as orientation for new FFT employees.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Other Functions:

    • Maintain open, consistent, and effective communication with Functional Family Therapy Regional Executive Director, program staff and funding/contract source.
    • Maintain required licensure and/or certifications as needed.
    • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Master's degree in a social service or related field, with three at least three (3) years’ experience managing programs serving at risk youth and families with supervisory responsibilities.
    • Licensed in respective field (to include but not limited to: LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC).
    • Supervisory experience in monitoring and quality assurance of behavior/case management, budget management, personnel management, conflict resolution, cultural diversity awareness, overall office management, group or family counseling, youth services, residential, educational or institutional settings and advocacy.
    • Valid Driver’s License, maintain current insurance and registration and clear driving record.
    • Clear result from a criminal background check.
    • Possess excellent verbal and written skills.
    • Excellent computer and data analysis skills.
    • Ability to travel as often as needed to maintain quality programs.



    • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

    Physical Demands:

    Must be able to obtain First Aid Certification (CPR). Must be able to verify client’s whereabouts by driving, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Daily use of various office equipment. Bending, stooping, climbing up stairs and lifting up to 15 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.

    Work Environment:

    This is a program which requires daily contact at various client locations. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. This position may require extended periods of time in an automobile. Exposed to prevalent weather conditions.
