  • Job Summary:

    Provide technical and programmatic support for the Non-Custodial Parent (NCP), Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)-Choices, and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) programs, working closely with Program Leads and Program Case Managers.  Duties include eligibility verification, processing of required program documentation, file maintenance, assisting in program orientations, customer follow-up, and data entry.

    Essential Functions:

    • Provides a friendly greeting, ensures that the customer(s) is signed into Workforce Center Customer Tracking (WCCT) system, and suggests the best route based on customer needs.
    • Verify program eligibility for each respective program.
    • Provide job search assistance including direct referral to jobs in the Work In Texas (WIT) database. Records those referrals properly.
    • Knowledge of Agency personnel and office policies and procedures.
    • Provides information about community resources.
    • Answer all one-stop program related phone calls.
    • Responsible for reviewing and receiving documents and making copies of required documents.
    • Enter data in The Workforce Information System of Texas and maintain accurate records
    • Prepare and process support services documentation.
    • Conduct customer follow-up via phone, email, fax or home visit.
    • Set up and maintain hard copy and electronic filing system.
    • File and retrieve documents, records, and reports.
    • Prepare, send, open, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence, including letters, faxes and email.

    Other Functions:

    Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • At least two (2) years of administrative/clerical experience.
    • Must have good computer skills, including experience with MS Office suite
    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated customer service skills.

    Preferred:

    Previous experience with TWIST software system.

    Bilingual (English/Spanish).

    Certificates and Licenses Required:

    A valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license and reliable means of transportation.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas.
    • While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment.
    • Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting.
    • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

    Work Environment:

    Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and local travel, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions, and occasional environmental hazards
