Job Summary:

 

 

The Vice President of UM Program Operations is responsible for leading and managing various services and programs. The Vice President of UM Program Operations is responsible for driving the implementation of programs and complex initiatives that support operations at the division level vision for the future.  Collaboration with senior operational leadership to ensure adequate cross-departmental collaboration and alignment with organizational goals.  Responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the division's operations planning, implementation, improvement, and evaluation. Ensuring Program Services operate at the highest efficiency level and consistently make strides to evolve support and build sustainable business operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Challenge best practices and seek opportunities to drive process improvements.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address and improve deficiencies in process and performance as identified.
  • Establish, communicate, and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Collaborate with UM Division Executive Team to develop frameworks that adequately and consistently check the pulse of operations across the division and point to opportunities for operational and service improvements.
  • Oversee service activities within an assigned jurisdiction (geographical/departmental/etc.), ensuring comprehensive implementation of company directives and policies.
  • Drive continuous improvements to maximize Southwest Key Programs’ impact, footprint, and positioning.
  • Produce analysis and oversight of investments made to improve operations organizationally and create reporting/presentations to inform executive and board staff as requested appropriately.
  • Ensure operational leads have adequate documentation of operational processes and procedures, process workflows, mapping, and communication to effectively convey and replicate operational processes.
  • Collaborate with other divisions and departments to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Build awareness and collaboration as it relates to budgets and finance, always mindful of striking a balance across business requirements, fiscal responsibility, programmatic quality, and future growth potential.
  • Ensure that all assigned division operations are performed in accordance and in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws/regulations, payer policies and contracts, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management

Other Functions:

  • Assist with developing and administering revenue generation activities, including fundraising, business development, and grants applications.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with the organization’s support departments (HR, Finance, DOT, etc.) to address and improve deficiencies in process and performance as identified.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with at least ten (10) years of professional experience overall, with a minimum of five years of senior leadership experience supervising seasoned staff operating multiple human services programs across a broad geography.
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organization-wide strategy for program excellence, engaging community partners, and partnering with a CEO and board of directors.
  • Reporting and program measurement and evaluation.
  • Demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence in their work, and has experience in leading others to new levels of effectiveness and programmatic impact.
  • Available for frequent and extended travel as required.

Preferred

  • An advanced degree in the social sciences with a strong business background.

Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment:

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary and involves sitting most of the time, but it may include walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer uses at workstations for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
