Job Summary:

 

The Senior Systems Architect is responsible for the design, configuration, operation to analyze our technology portfolio and provide recommendations for simplification, moderation and optimization of our technology assets.  To provide architecture leadership to create and implement solution architecture components. Assist with the creation of architectural artifacts for key technology initiatives. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform Data Analysis, design and build models, reports using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server
  • Develop SQL queries, tables, views, ETL’s in SSMS.
  • Design Data flows between multiple ERP systems (CRM, HCM, PRM) 
  • Develop Workbooks and Hyper Extracts on Tableau Desktop.
  • Design complex dashboards using non-normalized data schemas.
  • Tune SQL queries for improving performances.
  • Examine issues in business processes and resolve them.
  • Collaborate with business to deliver rapid prototypes.
  • Provide Data analytics, data modeling, data correlation/ integration and data visualization (e.g., metrics and dashboards using Tableau).
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures for Tableau development.
  • Integrate multiple data streams and feeds from networks, infrastructure services, mission/ business applications into a near, real-time dashboard (heads up display) for use in troubleshooting and the presentation of situational awareness briefings to executive and front-line staff.
  • Utilize pre-built dashboards/add-ons within the system as well as be able to create custom dashboards and search queries.
  • Provide recommendations/action plans for incorporating new data streams to present additional visualizations.
  • Perform technical knowledge transfer to customer to enable them to create independent dashboards and data ingestion streams within the system.
  • Safe-guard client and employee personal data.
  • Conduct Operations readiness and environment compatibility review of any changes before deployment.
  • Responsible for documenting technical requirements, test plans, test results, use cases, technical manuals, and reports.
  • Maintains and reviews technical requirements documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Information Technology with at least 6 years in BI and 5 years specifically in Tableau Desktop / Server.
  • Must have full SDLC experience with emphasis on data analysis and design.
  • Must possess the ability to translate business requirements/needs to successful data presentation.
  • Strong skills and knowledge with the selection of appropriate Tableau data visualization strategies (e.g., chart types) for specific use cases.
  • Experience with Data Validation, Cleansing & Documentation.
  • The ability to showcase complete dashboard implementations that demonstrate visual best-practices (e.g., color themes, visualization layout, interactivity, drill-down capabilities, filtering, etc.).
  • Experience with the preparation of data for visualization (e.g., data profiling, data cleansing, volume assessment and partitioning, modeling data, etc.).
  • Knowledge of dashboard & visualization development best practices.
  • Experience in gathering and translating end user requirements into effective & efficient dashboards.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic development lifecycle.
  • Experience creating joins and joins with custom SQL & blending data from different data sources using Tableau Desktop.
  • Experience in working with various Tableau Desktop functionalities & capabilities (Filters, Hierarchies, Sorting, Sets, Parameters, Custom Groups, Creating Story, Mapping, Custom Geocoding, etc.).
  • Experience using advanced calculations using Tableau Desktop (Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Table, LOD Expressions.
  • Experience creating different visualizations using Lines, Pies, Pareto, Histograms, Box Plots, Maps, Scatter, Gantts, Bubbles, Histograms, Bullets, Heat Maps, Waterfall, Treemaps, etc.
  • Experience working with Data Visualization tools, Tableau experience mandatory.
  • Experience working with relational data sources (Oracle and MS SQL Server) and flat files.
  • Experience with cloud-based data sources (e.g., Salesforce, Google, Azure).
  • Experience and ability to learn how to work with unstructured data sources.
  • Experience in optimizing user queries and dashboard performance.
  • Experience in estimating work and break down implementations into tangible modules.
  • Experience in embedded analytics (i.e., embedding visual data analytics in other transactional and operational systems).
  • Experience configuring server authentication options.
  • Experience planning enterprise server deployments.
  • Experience monitoring, maintaining, and scaling server deployments to satisfy business requirements.
  • Experience automating server monitoring and maintenance tasks.
  • Experience investigating and resolving server issues.
  • Experience configuring for server for performance.
  • Extensive experience using
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies, provide mentoring to others and server as a training resource.
  • The ability to be highly detail oriented and to take the responsibility to make ensure the accuracy of the reports.
  • Strong oral and data communication skills.
  • Tableau Certified Desktop 10 Associate or higher is required.
  • BA in a Computer Science, Engineering, Related field

Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment.

 

Prepared for onsite emergency response situations, on-call, 24-hour response to active shooter situations, protesters and natural or unforeseen disasters.

 

Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

General office environment with moderate noise. This position involves extensive travel. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
