Job Summary:

 

The Assistant Lead Home Study and Post Release Worker (LHSPRW) is responsible for the supervision of staff providing Home Study and Post Release Services and supporting the Lead Home Study and Post Release Worker in the oversight of the Home Study and Post Release Department. The Assistant LHSPRW reports to the Lead Home Study and Post Release Worker. The Assistant LHSPRW is subject to work extended hours, weekends, and to be on-call.

Essential Functions:

  • Assign caseloads to home study and post release workers.
  • Provide ongoing supervision of case management activities.
  • Provide support, leadership, coaching, development and support to staff.
  • Coordinate and conduct training and onboarding of new staff.
  • Complete biyearly staff shadowings and ensure staff are providing services in compliance with SWK and federal guidelines.
  • Review and submit home study and post release reports to ORR by deadlines.
  • Complete individual weekly case review with each Home Study and Post Release worker.
  • Maintain a weekly updated list of the status for all cases to ensure that adequate progress has been made and timelines are being upheld.
  • Participate in phone conferences with team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality for all client and program operations.
  • Review and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure staff adhere to travel budget and guidelines.
  • Develop corrective action plans or disciplinary memos to address performance issues of home study and post release staff in collaboration with Program Director.

Other Functions:

  • Carry a small caselod of home study and post release cases, as needed.
  • Attend all organizational required training
  • Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered t
  • Travel as needed for home visits, trainings and conference.
  • Maintain a safe work environment that is free from distractions
  • Develop and maintain productive relations with local, state, and federal contact
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assig
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A combination of one of the following:
    • Master’s degree in social work or an equivalent degree in behavior sciences or a social service field, with a minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience conducting home studies and working with immigrant populations, and should be knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare, may include part-time, volunteer or internship experience. Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in one of the behavior sciences or social service field, with five (5) years of relevant supervisory and case management experience.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, writing, analytical, and processing skills.
  • Should be able to perform conflict resolution or crisis intervention and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, and Excel).
  • Maintain a clean driving record and must be eligible to drive on behalf of SWK.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license, current driver's insurance and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to travel.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Cleared drug test results (this one is for Texas programs only).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.

Physical Demands:

Job requires extended periods of sitting; use of various office equipment; traveling by car and plane for extended periods of time.

Work Environment:

This is a work from home job where high levels of self-motivation and organizational skills are needed. Employees must have a quiet, private space in which to work at home. The LHSPRW will work closely with staff in various time zones throughout the United States therefore early morning or after hour work may be needed. Availability to travel will also be needed.
