Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the strategic development and execution of internal communications and employee engagement programs. The Wellness & Recognition Director is responsible for building a collaborative approach in the design and implementation of employee engagement initiatives, with an aim to support SWKey’s culture and values by enhancing our employees’ experience. Specifically focusing on wellness and recognition programming as a strategy for employee engagement, the director must be able to simultaneously manage, coordinate, and execute a number of complex projects within specific timelines and budget parameters. This role will also have the added responsibility of leading and supervising a diverse team to achieve departmental outcomes while providing support to operational teams including HR and Community Engagement to improve employee engagement. Position requires a minimum of 50% travel.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop an overarching strategy for improving employee morale and engagement across the organization while leveraging the efforts of the Wellness and Recognition team to create deliberate intention of programming and alignment to that greater strategy.
  • Partner with Southwest Key leadership to ensure that all talent, reward and organization development practices are delivered and communicated effectively. The director will work with teams to identify unique division/location needs while balancing the overall purpose and requirements of the employee engagement strategy.
  • Build partnerships and create collaborative spaces across divisions to implement initiatives that promote a culture of service excellence, performance and employee engagement.
  • Create an annual budget and manage spend down of funds for the Wellness and Recognition department. Responsible for oversight of employee recognition strategies to include reviewing, evaluating and making recommendations for organization wide recognition programs.
  • Establish quantitative measurements for evaluating programs. Help leaders determine links between engagement/identified outcomes and work with the W&R team to review data and strengthen program alignment through these insights.
  • Lead vendor management and contract negotiation efforts regarding Wellness and Recognition program.
  • Develop internal marketing concept, executive remarks, and presentations. Oversee the overall production of internal communications, events and program materials to ensure that messaging is consistent and designed to reach diverse employees at various levels of education.
  • Construct a structure for reporting at all levels of the organization and prepare necessary reports for presentations or distribution as scheduled or as requested. Ensure employees are informed of company initiatives, programs and announcements.
  • Monitor operational reports, industry trends and pertinent information that informs the development, evaluation and implementation of new processes as needed. Identify and address issues and solutions related to employee engagement
  • Support managers in supervision training and leadership skills development to increase employee wellness, motivation, retention, productivity and effective performance. Responsible for effective development, coordination, presentation, and assessment of training and policies for all employees on Wellness and Recognition.

Other Functions:

  • Act as an ambassador of the organization and Executive Management Team regarding internal operations, programs and policies.
  • Champion skills and assets that promote Southwest Key supervisors to be strong ambassadors of Southwest Key to various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Respond effectively to inquiries from field programs related to policy, procedure and best practice.
  • Proactively stay up-to-date on trends, best practices, and education within the Wellness and Recognition industry.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as necessary and assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7-10 years of experience in wellness /recognition management and training.
  • Proven experience in effecting change, driving organizational design by working collaboratively and cross –functionally.
  • Proven analytical quantitative, negotiation, and decision-making abilities in order to meet our goals.
  • Experience promoting information through traditional mediums as well as comfort in creating innovative methods for communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with sensitivity to employee relationships needs
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Computer programs. Excellent Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively
  • Preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Master’s degree.
  • Proven experience in implementing organization-wide programs across multiple locations a plus
